I had my scheduled OB check-up last May 14, my doctor checked my cervix and I was shocked to hear from her that I’m already 2cm dilated at 36 weeks. She said baby might come out anytime soon. The moment I heard this, I felt anxious but at the same time excited (I want to give birth right now!!!) and hungry since it’s already lunch time!
Since we have plans of going to Ayala mall in the afternoon but wanted to avoid a crowded dining place, we agreed to have our lunch at Simply J’s. I also really wanted to try their eat-all-you-can lunch buffet which only costs Php299/head.
We arrived there early and here’s Louise, excited to eat (as expected she only ate chicken). Luckily, there’s no need to pay for her food because children below 6 years of age are still free of charge (this is what the staff told me).
Take note though that Simply J’s Lunch Buffet is only available every Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, from 11:00AM – 2:30PM. They have different menu for every schedule so if you’re particular of the food selection, much better to call them first before visiting the place. It was Saturday when we went there and these are the food we have enjoyed.
I wasn’t in the mood to eat vegetables and fruits that day so I ended up eating just my all-time favorites – lechon manok, bam-i, fish fillet, grilled pork belly and their yummy and crispy calamares. Unlike other buffet restaurants in Cebu, Simply J’s bottomless iced tea is already included in the buffet price.
As for the desserts, my lunch was completed because of these three: palitaw, maja and kutsinta. Oh how I missed eating these Pinoy desserts!
All-in-all, we’re satisfied with the food we ate for the price of only Php299, not bad! As expected, the place was not crowded that time which helped me to feel relaxed before going to Ayala.
