Great coffee shops and dining places do not exist just for the food and services alone. They also make sure they offer the perfect place where people can spend time with friends, co-workers, or even just to relax and watch the world go by. It’s the atmosphere that matters most for the majority of people. Some prefer luxurious setting while others opt for a simple yet with homely atmosphere. For Fred and me, we always go for the latter.
Thankfully, because of a friend invite, we’ve added a new place to our list of favorites – Cafe Elora which is located in Lapu-Lapu City, along Maximo V. Patalinghug Jr Ave.
Cafe Elora serves coffee, wine and great food and drinks. Their indoor area may be small but good enough for that chit-chat with friends and for cute Instagram photos.
I loved the setup of their outdoor area which looked good day and night. For me, as a mom who always checks places for possible party venues, it can be a perfect spot for small gatherings or exclusive special occasions.
It was a sunny afternoon when we arrived and from what I saw of the place, I found Cafe Elora’s outdoor ambiance quite nostalgic. It reminded me of my childhood where afternoons were spent eating snacks (after siesta) in our verandah while enjoying the sunny afternoon view.
As a family who rarely goes out for outdoor activities, I let my kids enjoy playing in their outdoor area even though the sun is making them more sweaty. It was good to know that the place was child-friendly.
Tasty and Affordable Food
From their menu, we ordered their Baby Back Ribs and Buffalo Wings. Instead of coffee, we opted for their frozen drinks from which Louise chose two flavors – strawberry and vanilla. They all tasted great and we loved the tenderness of the pork ribs, so easy for Martina to chew and swallow. Their buffalo wings was a bit spicy so we did not let the kids eat it but for me and Fred, it was really a delight! Their frozen drinks were very refreshing as well, not too sweet, tasted almost as good as the ones from more expensive and known cafes.
Cafe Elora also offers pasta, cakes and cookies but we had already enough sweets and pasta during our lunch that day so we skipped them.
Here are some photos of the other food they serve and the prices are shown below (they’re still in the process of adding more food selection):
Cafe Elora is open 7 days a week, from 9AM-11PM, with free WIFI available. They also offer catering services, better contact them at (032) 495 1675.
Overall, it was a pleasant visit and an afternoon well-spent! The place is highly recommended, I’ll definitely try their coffee and pasta during our next visit.
