You read it right, 4th time! I started https://www.iwaydiaries.com/ in 2015 and was nominated as one of the Best Cebu Blogs Awards (BCBA) finalists in 2016. I didn’t win but to be honest, it was already an honor to be included as one of the finalists. 2018 was one of my lucky years in my blogging era. Not only was I able to travel sponsored by brands I worked with, but I also won and bagged the Best Cebu Personal Blog of 2018!
The Best Cebu Blogs Awards (BCBA) is an annual event honoring Cebu-based Bloggers. BCBA is the only and pioneering award-giving body that recognizes the existence of blogs, bloggers and social media influencers or movers in Cebu’s blogosphere.
BCBA still continued even during the Pandemic and I was nominated again in 2020 under the same category. Like the rest of the world shutting down, 2020 was the beginning of my blog posts slowing down. The decrease in my organic traffic was also significant, I felt discouraged from making new posts.
Fast forward to 2023, I started noticing an increase in my blog’s organic traffic which means (for me) that people are back to reading blogs. There are Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok these days for videos and all, but nothing beats blogs for people who love to read and skim through articles. It feels really good to see increasing numbers of people visiting my blog which is why I already have a line-up of topics to blog about, then good news arrived! My blog got listed as one of the Finalists for the Best Cebu Blogs Awards 2023 under the PERSONAL CATEGORY.
Thank you so much BCBA! I take this moment as another sign to continue and move forward with my blogging goals. I can’t wait to attend the awarding ceremony! I’m not expecting to win anything, I’ll be there to see inspired bloggers, content creators and friendly familiar faces.
