Top Things to Consider to Start Dressing With Confidence – Tips for Moms

I’m no fashion blogger and I myself need a lot of improvement when it comes to dressing up with confidence and style. But this doesn’t mean I’m not aware of the important things I should be doing for me to look better. Like any curious individuals out there, especially those moms like me, I’ve also done my research and for me, only these 3 things matter (for now).

1. Know your size and color.

After giving birth, most of us are having a hard time getting back into shape. As a mother of two, I now accept my new weight and body. I now embrace my new clothing size and update my wardrobe. I bid goodbye to body-fitting dresses and say hello to flowy ones, and I say yes to mommy jeans as well. Gone are the days of wearing sleeveless because now, I am loving my cardigan and kimono collections.  All these, to hide my bulging tummy and healthy-looking upper arms, of course in style!

When it comes to color, I know I’m morena but I can’t tell whether I belong to warm or cool category. I’m no good with the rules involving color wheels as well so I’m left with wearing these: neutral colors like white, gray and black. Sometimes, I wear other dark or bright colors but stick to monochrome looks to be safe.

2. Never compromise comfort for fashion.

Imagine going out with kids, no nanny/yaya, no husband around, only you and your little army. What would you wear for times like these? If you ask me, I only have three options – to wear shorts, jeans or leggings; paired with a top which doesn’t show the cleavage (I don’t have this unfortunately haha!). Dresses and skirts are still ideal but I make sure they’re not too short.

Comfort should also be considered when it comes to bras and underwear. Choose the ones that can help you move freely. Websites like knix.com offer products for women with unperfect bodies, yet display real beauty.

3. Don’t be afraid to accessorize!

My best friend would surely laugh at me when he reads this! To be honest, this is the area where I need much improvement. I do wear dangling earrings but I always stick to my favorite watch and necklace given by my husband. I’m never a fan of bracelets as well. So most of the time, I end up looking at myself in the mirror, wishing I have bought that necklace/bracelets I saw during my window shopping that supposedly would suit my outfit. Relate? Oh well, at least I’m not alone.

It’s never too late to look better and more confident mommies, so I hope this article has helped you (mwah!).
