Shangri-la Mactan Cebu – Family Staycation

Staycation with husband and kids is something that I could not resist every time there’s a special occasion. It helps me relax and be free. Honestly, if only we have enough money, I would probably be booking for a hotel room whenever I’m stressed and that would probably be every week (whew!).

This year, we already had 2 staycations, first was on mother’s day and second was during Martina’s birthday. To make it sounds fair for dear husband Fred, we booked for a Deluxe Sea View room at Shangri-la’s Mactan Resorts and Spa on Father’s day, and look how happy he was!

When we entered the room, I was about to take a photo of the bed and boom! Look who’s even more excited than their Daddy???

So for Shangri-la’s Deluxe Sea view room, here’s what you’ll have inside the room and the view you’ll see from the balcony.

The room can accommodate a maximum of 2 adults and 2 children that are 11 years old or younger or 3 adults and 1 child. Louise loved the room so much because of the little murphy bed or wall bed where she slept, she got really surprised when the hotel staff pulled it down from the cabinet.

One problem we always have when we stay in a hotel is not able to take nice photos of the place. Bringing two kids without someone to assist us is quite too much for us that we always leave our DSLR camera at home. So this time, we planned to just wake up early in the morning to take decent photos using our mobile phones, while kids are still in good mood.

We started strolling at 6:30 AM, when the sun has just risen and the surroundings were not yet crowded. We regret nothing from our decision to leave early our very comfortable bed because we’re able to see how lovely and amazing the scenery was.

My favorite spot was their white sand beach, it was one of the best indeed. I’ve visited several resorts in Mactan and seriously, most of them don’t have very fine white sands, not impressive at all. At Shangri-la, you’ll really get what you deserve for the price that you pay.

Already sweating and hungry, we headed to one of Shangri-la’s restaurants, The Tides. Included in our room booking was free buffet breakfast for two adults and two kids below 6 years old. We had a sumptuous meal and we even had the chance to take a photo of the resort’s resident mascot, Polly the parrot.

What we’re always looking forward from a five-star resort like Shangri-la are the areas where children can really enjoy to the fullest and these are the swimming pools, the archade, and the playroom. Kids and adults young at heart will never get bored here!

The resort has 2 playrooms, the TODDLER ZONE for 4 years old and below and the ADVENTURE ZONE for kids 5 – 17 years old. See details below:

Take note though that they’re very strict when it comes to clothing. Unless you have extra money to pay P200 for a pair of socks, you should bring socks for you and for your kids. For Adventure zone, wearing a long-sleeved shirt is a must.

With all the activities and amenities the resort has to offer, it surely is a place that every member of the family will enjoy!
